Kimmortal is a Vancouver-based rap-soul emcee and singer-songwriter. Discorder magazine describes Kimmortal as a “capable rapper, releasing words with power on a level somewhere between the rawness of an artist like Angel Haze and her own impassioned spoken word”. Kimmortal independently released her debut album, Sincerity (2014) a compilation that reflects Kimmortal’s acoustic and soul influences and her skillful lyricism.

Following the release of her album, Kimmortal performed at Toronto’s Canadian Music Week 2015 and shared stages with her favourite hip-hop artists Gabriel Teodros (Seattle), Khingz (Seattle), Lal (Toronto), and JB the First Lady (Vancouver). In August 2016, she was hand-picked by Juno Award winning rapper, Shad K, to open up for his show at The Biltmore for the Vancouver Mural Festival.

Kimmortal was a spotlighted artist in CBC’s “Exhibitionists” which focused on her multi-medium approach to music as a visual artist. In 2016, she released a music video to a hip hop remix of her song “Brushing by Heaven’s Shoulder” that was entirely animated, rapped and directed by Kimmortal. The music video was selected for a screening at San Francisco’s Queer Women of Colour film festival in May 2016. Since then, Kimmortal has headlined for Brown, Black Fierce festival, New West Pride festival, and Toronto’s Kultura Filipino Arts Festival. Kimmortal is currently working on her second full length album of self-produced beats and has high hopes to reach international audiences.
